Question: 2001 Chevrolet Corvette vs. 2006 Pontiac GTO?

( Back )

Answer #1:

Corvettes are bone rattlers. They look better though. And the GTO is a Pontiac so yeah that about sums that up.

Answer #2:

I think that the gto is better suited for every day driving. it has a trunk

Answer #3:

The Pontiac GTO, hands down. End of story.

The 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO was basically the Australian built Holden Monaro underneath Pontiac badges. All of them were built in Elizabeth, South Australia.

The Holden Commodore which the Monaro and hence the GTO which underlined the development of the car, had at the time $600m spent on development costs. In 2010 dollars terms that equates to just over $1.2bn.
The Commodore itself was developed for the harsh conditions found on Australian roads, and as such the Monaro and therefore the Pontiac GTO is a far tougher, more rigid and better built car than anything built in the United States.

I'd rather have a GTO because essentially being a Holden underneath the badges, it's better built and better developed than the rubbish spewed forth by Chevrolet and they know it.

Even the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro was developed in Australia on the same platform as the VE Commodore.

Let's be totally honest here, if Chevrolet themselves are outsourcing development to Holden in Australia, wouldn't it make proper sense to buy a car actually built by them?

Answer #4:

You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here - carinsurance.deep-ice.com
