The 1969 model did not have the vent windows  and received a slight grille and taillight alteration. The ’69 Goat was also fitted with a new rear bumper. In addition, the rear quarter-panel side marker Pontiac "V" crest lamps were replaced with ones shaped like the broad GTO 6.5 litre badge. The 1969 GTO was offered in the hardtop and the convertible body styles.

The 1969 GTO came standard with exterior badges, two hood scoops, a 350hp 400cid engine with an optional Ram Air version, chrome valve covers and air cleaner(s), dual exhausts, bucket seats and a 3-speed manual transmission with floor mounted Hurst shifter.
