The GTO received a redesign for 1968. Most notable changes included; a color coded Endura bumper with optional hideaway headlights, a more rounded shape, shorter wheel base, and dual hood scoops which were functional with the Ram Air engines.
For 1968, the sport coupe was dropped and the GTO could only be ordered in two different body styles - the hardtop and the convertible.
The 1968 GTO came standard with exterior badges, two hood scoops, a 350hp 400cid engine with an optional Ram Air version, chrome valve covers and air cleaner(s), dual exhausts, bucket seats and a 3-speed manual transmission with floor mounted Hurst shifter.
